Ramadan Blessings: A Path to Spiritual Growth

Ramadan Blessings: A Path to Spiritual Growth

The holy Ramadan month is ahead of us. Ramadan is a big chance for Muslims all over the world to ask for forgiveness and prosperity to Allah (SWT). Above everything else, mental, physical, spiritual peace can be gained by the observance of Ramdan. A man practicing fast comes to realize the pain of a person who suffers from the pain of hunger.

One realizes the distress of hunger and thirst. A fasting person will always save himself from unfair and indecent deeds. Islam encourages one to be thoughtful of spending their fortune during this month for himself, his family and among the ones who need it the most.

A Diverse Perspective on Ramadan Blessings:

Ramadan giving is highly encouraged in Islam because it helps bring a simple balance between the rich and the poor. Ramadan blesses peace upon those who are rich by wealth, yet remains close to Allah (SWT) through their generosity. It is a part of the five main pillars of Iman and Islam.

Muslims have the chance to further develop their relationship with Allah and concentrate on their spiritual development throughout Ramadan. Fasting is believed to be an approach to soul purification, discipline development, and the cultivation of concern for the less fortunate.

It is also a time for meditation and spiritual development by religious practices including reading the Quran, going to particular prayers, and performing acts of generosity.

The Islamic Significance of Ramadan Blessings-

Ramadan blessings go far beyond just staying away from liquids and food from dawn till sundown. Muslims get a chance to this hardship as an opportunity to learn self-control and become closer to Allah(SWT) and develop sympathy for the less fortunate. Ramadan is the month to learn Itikat and apply this in real life.

The early morning Suhoor meal and the evening Iftar gatherings serve a great opportunity among Muslim neighborhoods and families to grow a bond stronger than before between them. Throughout Ramadan, Muslims are encouraged to act kindly and together as it increases their sense of human morality.

Which helps them serve as a reminder of the need for compassion and generosity toward others. Ramadan month is considered more than a month of just fasting and not having food during daytime. Ramadan helps a Muslim purify his or her soul.

Allah (SWT) provides Ramadan blessings to those who are kind and helpful towards others in need. This month is heavily important for the Muslims all over the world as it is the month when the Holy Quran was first revealed as a proper lifestyle for human kind to our beloved prophet Hazrat Muhammad(PBUH). Allah (SWT) has clearly stated this in the Surah Baqara that-

“The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it…”

(Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayat 186)

Ramadan blessings in prayers and Dua’s:

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims offer additional night prayers as Taraweeh which includes 20 Raqahs of prayer after the Esha prayer,  in addition to their five daily prayers.

Long passages of the Quran are recited, along with specific duas that are read for this month, which are held at the mosque to make the Muslim brotherhood grow stronger.

During the holy month, Muslims have the chance to strengthen their spiritual development and strengthen their relationship with the holy Quran and with Allah(SWT)  Himself by praying properly and calling out to Him who is the almighty and making duas. Praying in Ramadan multiplies the blessings of one prayer to 70 times the prayer.

The Quran tells us to ask Allah (SWT):

“Our Lord! Give us good in the world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of the Fire of Hell.”

(Surah Al-Baqarah, Ayat 201)

Allah (SWT) has said in the quran about the blessings of Ramadan praying-

“And rush toward your Lord’s pardon and a garden as vast as the sky and earth, ready for the pious who spend their time [serving Allah] in both prosperity and adversity…”

(Surah Al-Imran, Ayat 133-134)

Ramadan Blessings That Kindness Brings During Ramadan-

It is strongly encouraged in Islam to spend wealth for Muslim orphans who have nowhere to turn to. Without any sort of parenting, these children often lack essential resources including education, healthcare, proper nutritious food and a stable home environment.

Ramadan provides a chance for the global Muslim community to unite for the betterment of the ones who are needy and ensuring they can have a bright future like any other normal child too.

“Every morning two angels descend to a slave(servant) of Allah. One of them says, ‘O Allah! Give reward to the giver’ & another angel says “O Allah! Cause damage to the accumulator(miser) of wealth.“

 Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1442, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1010

On the contrary, a person who holds onto his wealth and accumulates wealth is considered a miser in Islam.

Psychological,Physical & Religious impact of Ramadan blessings-

Ramadan is a time set exclusively for contemplation and growth in one’s faith. Muslims use this month to reflect on their deeds, ask for pardon, and work on improving themselves. People strengthen their relationship with Allah and refresh their faith by increasing their acts of devotion and praying with greater intensity.

Muslims who fast experience a reduction in stress as they concentrate on their spiritual practices, simplify their daily schedules, and disconnect from external distractions. The psychological advantages involve feelings of thankfulness and satisfaction; fasting cultivates a greater sense of appreciation for life’s gifts and a diminished focus on worldly aspirations.

During Ramadan, Muslims get to lead a proper healthy life as Ramadan helps one to fix their schedule and lifestyle. Eating healthy leads to a healthy mind as it grows.
